Yesterday was my first speed skating race of the year—the National Championship in the Half Marathon. Ten years after my first marathon, I’m not as excited about competing anymore. My preparation also wasn’t the best. I did some foundational training on the bike but not much skating.
When I arrived, I felt a bit down. There wasn’t much excitement for what was to come. I got my starter pack, took a few pics for my Project 365, and sat in the car for a bit before warm-up, wondering if I should continue going to races.
I have a really hard time maintaining this site. On one hand, I wish to post here more often, but on the other, I want to polish everything too much, and the amount of work required to do that scares me. In the end, I don’t post anything.
Reading similar personal websites, I think I might have an idea to change that. I started writing here in Polish because it’s my native tongue, but over the years, I’ve drifted more and more into the international web, where the main language is English.
There were some changes here in the backend.
I still really like idea of Static Site Generator, but after using it for a while overhead of editing stuff locally and syncing it between different computers became a bit too much. I wanted to have a way to just login inside a browser and make some changes from there.
I’ve tried few things, but without much luck. First was Netlify, but the way I have that required to use separate domain.
Since I switched to static site generator, I had a bit of an issue with the way I had to update the website. When I created new post nd wanted to publish it, I had to generate all the pages and put it on a server.
It wasn’t much of a problem on my main computer because everything was set up. However, I wanted to be able to easily publish from other computer without setting everything up.
I was thinking about starting writing in English for a while. On the internet I use mainly this language, but somehow I don’t feel confident expressing my thoughts in it. I’m not sure why, I use it also everyday at work and there it’s fine. Well, maybe it’s time to change it.
I’ve dug into a config a buit and turn on multilanguage site. At first I wanted to do this on separate domains, but let’s see how will it work first, and then I’ll see.
